Grow by Design.ai was created with a simple belief: No one should be left behind in the Age of AI.
We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free, hands-on, practical AI training for everyday people, especially those who don’t see themselves as “technical.” Whether you’re on the shop floor, in finance, managing properties, running a pharmacy, or leading operations, AI should feel empowering, not intimidating.
Technology is changing fast. But access to meaningful, real-world learning hasn’t kept up. That’s where we come in.

Our Story
In 2013, Grow by Design was born from a simple but powerful idea: creativity can change a life.
We began by bringing design thinking workshops into underserved schools, helping students see themselves as problem-solvers, entrepreneurs, and innovators. We didn’t just teach theory. We helped young people imagine, prototype, collaborate, and build confidence.

We believed then, and still believe today, that innovation is not reserved for the privileged. It’s a mindset anyone can learn. Then came COVID.
When classrooms closed, so did our ability to visit the schools and communities we loved serving. But something else became clear: a new kind of divide was widening.
Technology was accelerating. Remote work surged. Digital tools became essential overnight. And millions of people, especially those without technical backgrounds, were being left behind.
So we pivoted.
Instead of teaching innovation only in classrooms, we began helping everyday people build confidence with technology. We focused on practical, real-world skills, not coding bootcamps, not complex theory, but accessible tools that helped people thrive in a changing world.

By 2023, the rise of artificial intelligence made the gap even more urgent. AI wasn’t just another technology trend. It was reshaping jobs, industries, and opportunities. Yet most AI training programs were designed for engineers, developers, and technical professionals, not for the shop floor worker, the pharmacist, the finance leader, or the small business owner who simply wanted to keep up.
We saw fear.
We saw intimidation.
We saw potential going untapped.
So Grow by Design evolved again.
Today, we focus on providing free, hands-on AI training for people who don’t see themselves as technical.
People who are curious... but unsure.
People who are capable... but overlooked.
People who deserve access.
Our mission is simple: No one left behind in the Age of AI.
